Dr. Larry Cook has been practicing medicine for over 46 years. With his wife, Sherry, Dr. Cook has been serving the Scottsdale community with exceptional medical care. Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Cook moved to the Midwest and then eventually Arizona.  He has lived and practiced medicine in Scottsdale for over 18 years. 

Dr. Cook obtained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He did  an Internal Medicine internship and residency at Northwestern University hospital in Chicago. He then completed an Endocrinology fellowship and practiced at the Northwestern University Medical Associates until deciding on a career direction change. He pursued Cardiology. His Cardiology Fellowship was at Pennsylvania State Hershey.

He and his family then spent 20 years in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he was part of the successful innovative cardiology group that grew from 2 physicians to 14. In 2003 he moved to the Scottsdale Phoenix area and was part of a large cardiology group for 3 years before forming Cardiologists of Scottsdale in 2007. He has enjoyed being a solo practitioner.

Dr. Cook  enjoys music, sports, skiing and running .  He was a Torchbearer for the 2002 Olympics. He is the proud husband of Sherry and father of their 5 children. In July, 2017, he added twin girl grandchildren to the family from his oldest girl. In Oct., 2020 he was blessed with a grandson from his oldest boy. He has had multiple publications and administrative roles, but currently devotes most of his effort to the practice of cardiology. Soon he hopes to enjoy a private life!


Sherry Cook

Sherry is the office co- manager and coordinator of the practice as well as the first person who greets you. She is very much the face of the office. She is a Chicago native with experience as an Xray technologist, an ultrasonographer, a registered nurse, and mother of 5.  She brings an intuitive, compassionate, but practical approach to our office. Her most recent notable quote is, "Be nice to me."

Other Employees

Ben,  Anna and Rhonda:                              

Ben is our office Medical Assistant and the office co-manager. He  is involved in the coordination of care and the scheduling. He makes the office run on an everyday basis. He is involved with coordinating appointments, insurance authorizations, medications, supplies, and testing. Most everything in the office goes through him at one time or another.                           

Anna is the office billing expert. She is responsible for our financial existence. She manages the billing and payments. She keeps track of the growing, increasingly complex system of copayments, coinsurances, and deductibles. She is approachable and knowledgeable; she will explain your financial obligations and assist when appropriate .              

Rhonda is our sonographer. Our office has been enormously lucky to have some of the best and most talented echocardiographic ultrasound technicians. She brings an extensive experience in multiple forms of ultrasound, and provides very high quality exams.

 

 

Our Services

We offer in-office electrocardiography, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and echocardiography. We perform in office stress echocardiography, pacemaker interrogation and ICD interrogation and management.

We provide blood pressure and cholesterol control as well as therapy and management of heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, chest pain, and arrhythmias.

Our in hospital services include patient management, coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stenting (along with intravascular ultrasound and fractional flow reserve), permanent pacemaker implantation, trans-thoracic echocardiography, and trans-esophageal echocardiography.
